SANDWICH, Mass – About 15 million people live in New England, and travel industry experts predicts half of them will take a vacation this summer. And, more importantly, the majority of vacationers will travel by car within a 100-mile radius of their home.

This is good news for business’ on Cape Cod, and, particularly for the 25 public golf courses, spread out over the approximately 65-mile peninsula. Best advice is to book your tee times sooner, rather than later.

Here are six top choices on Cape Cod that are waiting for you to tee it up. In Truro, which is on the eastern tip of Cape Cod, lies the aptly named Highland Links Golf Course, established in 1892. A lighthouse frames the fairways, and the ocean views make you feel like you have arrived in Scotland.

The greens are smallish, and fairways are tight on this track that plays 2,753 from the back tees. The ocean winds and gnarly rough makes Highland a challenging course. The green fees for nine holes are $35.00 and tee times can be booked on line.
